Barasat Institute of Social Activity (BISA) has dedicated nine years towards child development in the Hatkhola slums under the Barasat Municipality of North 24 Parganas. At BISA, we strongly believe in creating a dynamic civil society that implements fundamental rights at all levels by changing society’s behavior. In addition to child development, BISA also provides WASH, RCH, Environment, and Legal Aid services to underprivileged individuals.

Barasat Institute of Social Activity (BISA) is a multifaceted organization that strives to improve the lives of individuals and communities. In addition to child development and human rights advocacy, BISA is involved in several other community development programs. These programs include livelihood programs, organic farming, COVID-19 emergency support, education programs, and participation in events like the Kolkata Book Fair.

BISA’s commitment to empowering individuals and communities through a range of diverse initiatives reflects its vision of creating a more equitable and sustainable society.

BISA receives support from the local community, and we have conducted child development programs in various slum areas, including Indira Colony, Parichran Sarkar Colony, and Ambedkar Colony, providing healthcare and educational development services. BISA is also involved in Environment Development Programs in different areas of Barasat Municipality. Furthermore, we are planning to initiate work on third gender rights as part of our commitment to human rights.

Barasat Institute of Social Activity is Registered with the Registrar of Societies and the type of NGO is Registered Societies (Non-Government) bearing the West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961 and the Registration Number is SO186030. The city and state of registration are Barasat and West Bengal. The date of registration is 13-12-2011.
